How to create a Change Power Plan Shortcut in Windows OS.


If you want to change the power plan of your laptop then no need to worry here in this blog i describe steps for changing from one power plan to another. One of the most common way is through Power Settings or through control panel or through the battery icon from the Taskbar. Steps are describe below:

1- Firstly you need to go to start menu and here you have to type cmd on the search option from and press enter.

2- Now in the Command Prompt you need to type command powercfg –list.

3- Now this command prompt screen will show you the three power plans with their GUID numbers. Here you need to copy the GUID number of the power plans because it will used to create the shortcut.

4- After that make a right click on desktop and go for New then Shortcut. Now in the location field type powercfg.exe /setactiveGUIDNumber and after that click on Next. type the name of that shortcut and click on finish.

5- Again go to your desktop make a right click on recently created shortcut then go to its Properties option.

6- Here click on Change Icon through Shortcut tab. It will show you an error so need not to be worry it just a specific path contains no icons, you just click on Ok.

7- After clicking ok the change icon window is open in-front of you. Now you can choose any icon through the preloaded icons or you can browse you system if you have any custom icon.

Above are the steps to change the power plan of your laptop/desktop. After following the procedure describe above you are able to change the power plan of your system and whenever you want to change the power plan you need to make double click on the shortcut icon and you are able to change the plan.
